When it comes to the most important of days in your life – your wedding day – Ikos Resorts step up to make sure it’s truly memorable. Everything is perfectly in place for the big day, from flowers in the room to a candlelit dinner for the happy couple. The very experienced wedding team make sure every little detail is carefully considered, guests are given the warmest welcome and the stunning settings form the perfect backdrop to ensure every memory is cherished.
Ikos Resorts is an ideal wedding destination, proving popular for happy couples from across Europe and beyond. A beautiful location and romantic setting, it’s for those who want the most luxurious accommodation together with first-class cuisine and a warm, welcoming ambience. Our dedicated wedding team is there to help with all the arrangements or take control of the majority of the planning – all depending on your wishes. They can help in many ways, from coordinating the formal arrangements with the local Town Hall to arranging accommodation for up to 50 guests. The bride and groom can tailor-make their wedding arrangements or choose a wedding package which includes a range of special touches from room upgrade to a candlelit dinner for the happy couple.
Our Special Wedding package Includes:
- Administration.
- Reservation of the wedding date and time at the local Town Hall.
- Assistance to submit the relevant documents for a civil wedding and to receive the marriage certificate after the wedding.
- Wedding cake (for 10 people).
- Flowers in room on wedding day.
And if you are staying with us for your honeymoon you will receive the additional complimentary benefits:

If you do not wish to bring all your family and friends with you to the local town hall we can arrange for a reading of the vows in the grounds of Ikos Olivia.
You will have to go to the local town hall firstly to make the legal ceremony; two witnesses are required (minimum 18 years old).
Upon return we can arrange for you to have the reading of the vows in one of our designated locations of your choice. Nothing legal is attached to this ceremony!
After the ceremony you might want to enjoy a glass of champagne and refreshments and maybe some snacks.

Civil weddings can be conducted at the town at Polygyros.
The weddings are being held on Thursdays in between 11.00-13.30. (Wedding day might change).
Two witnesses are required. (Minimum 18 years old).
For church weddings you need to be Greek Orthodox as we do not have other priests of other dogmas in the area.
Where to start?
Firstly you have to contact the Greek consulate in London and ask them to give you the information regarding the paperwork they require for a civil wedding in Greece.
Before you read the below legal requirements, it is important to understand that these requirements are set by the Greek government and not by us. Therefore they might change without further notice.
- Bride and groom passports (You must be older than 18years old).
- Bride and groom birth certificates.
- Wedding license, issued from your country, OR a Certificate of non-Impediment for both bride and groom.
- Divorce Certificate(s) if any.
- Legal documentation of name change (if applicable to your case).
- Widow/widower certificate (if applicable to your case).
All documents must be officially certified (legalized) by The Legalization Office, Apostil Seal (Hague convention of 5 October 1961).
Please attach together at the back of each of the documents. It is not acceptable to authenticate all your papers with only one Apostil.

All documents must be officially translated in Greek (except the passports). Translation and approval of the translation can be done by the Greek Consulate or the Greek Embassy of your country.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Some of my guests are staying in a different hotel. Can they join me at Ikos Resorts on my wedding day?
A: Yes, upon communication with our wedding specialist, your guests are allowed to enter the hotel grounds and enjoy the facilities.
Q: Who performs the ceremony?
A: The deputy Mayor of the Town Hall performs the ceremony.
Q: What happens if it rains on our wedding day?
A: In case of any unexpected weather conditions, and should you have required your wedding reception to be held outdoors, we will do our best to move your wedding reception to an indoor area.
Q: How soon after our wedding shall we get our photos and DVD?
A: The photos and DVD will be ready for you in 1 week.
Q: If my departure is earlier, will you send the photos and DVD to my home address?
A: Yes, we can send these to you using a courier, at an extra charge.
Q: When will we receive our Marriage Certificate?
A: The officially signed Marriage Certificate will be given to you three working days after the wedding day. If you leave the country earlier, the marriage certificate will be sent to you by courier, at an extra charge.
